Marketing Content Creator Summer Student Position

Pay: $22.75 per hour

Hours: 30 hours per week

Duration: 8 weeks

Schedule: Monday through Friday in July, some evenings, and weekends in August. You must be available from August 1 to 17th and for festival dates August 15, 16, 17th.

Job brief

We seek an enthusiastic summer student to join our CMF team as a Marketing-Content Creator. Your role will involve developing and implementing marketing strategies and capturing captivating visual content through videography and photography to support our promotional efforts.


As a Marketing Content Creator, you'll collaborate closely with our festival team throughout all phases of marketing campaigns. Your creative input will be invaluable in shaping and maintaining our marketing channels and crafting compelling visual narratives.


This position offers an opportunity to hone marketing skills while gaining hands-on experience in videography and photography. You'll be immersed in a dynamic work environment that will prepare you for a career in the fast-paced world of marketing and visual content creation.


Responsibilities


  • Support the director and core team in daily marketing, videography, and photography requirements.

  • Develop creative concepts and storyboards for video content that effectively communicate our brand message and engage our target audience.

  • Plan and execute video shoots, including setting up equipment, capturing footage, and directing the subject as needed.

  • Using video editing software, you can edit raw footage into high-quality videos, adding music, graphics, and other elements to enhance the final product.

  • Optimize video content for various social media platforms, ensuring it meets each platform's technical specifications and best practices.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align video content with overall marketing campaigns and initiatives throughout CMF.

  • Monitor the performance of video content across social media platforms, analyzing metrics and insights to inform future content decisions.

  • Assist in distributing marketing materials across Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley.

  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities, including social media management, e-newsletter creation, and web content development.

  • Be in attendance on August 15-16-17 to capture and edit the video onsite.

  • Create mini-docs and video that capture the event for future events.


Requirements and skills

  • Strong desire to learn and contribute, with a professional work ethic

  • Solid understanding of marketing principles and techniques

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

  • Familiarity with marketing software and online applications, including Adobe, Canva, etc.

  • Passion for the marketing or media industry and a commitment to best practices

  • Current enrollment in a related Bachelor's Degree or Diploma program
